It is brown and dull here in the Midwest right now. Before winter started I had all kinds of ideas for portrait sessions in the snow. If only our snow would have stuck around for more than a few days. But just because the weather isn't cooperating, doesn't mean that my creative juices aren't flowing. I have my sights set on spring and am actively location scouting! We are blessed to live in such a beautiful area with so many options out there. Here are my top five...
The Cantigny Rose gardens. Oh, how I love thee...let me count the ways. A friend of mine just told me about this gem of a place in Wheaton, IL. Cantigny offers more than just the rose gardens. Click on the photo to check out their website. Imagine your your next photo session at Cantigny!
The Naperville Riverwalk. I'm not going to lie, I am in love with this bridge and the beautiful rolling waters below. You cannot go wrong with a photo session here. There are so many opportunities for beautiful images...just steps away from Downtown Naperville, IL.
Speaking of Downtown Naperville, do you want your photos to have a more urban appeal? Naperville has many gorgeous brick alley ways throughout the downtown area that photograph beautifully.
I couldn't possibly leave out the Morton Arboretum. It's such a beautiful place with so many different gardens. Great for portraits.
And last, but certainly not least is the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve. I have photographed my own kids here in the spring and I have to tell you the photos are gorgeous. It's so natural and earthy, you will love portraits with this gorgeous background!

It's not too early to start thinking about your spring portrait session. Before we know it, the blooms will be here. I can hardly wait! Weather permitting, I will be announcing Easter Mini Sessions soon. In the spring I book sessions on Saturdays in the evenings, usually an hour or two before sunset. I recommend booking your session early in the season, because spots are limited. Now go on, explore and dream about spring!
