Before every session that I have ever done, everyone wants to know the answer to the most important question... What should I (we) wear? For those who really want to go the extra mile and color coordinate their wardrobes for photography sessions, I'm hoping to provide some insight. I know you remember seeing it in art class...the famous color wheel. In every art, there are certain rules that are followed. In fact, there is almost a science behind it...analogous, complementary, and monochromatic colors. What is pleasing to the eye comes from these rules. In this case, color rules! As you start to think about how to wear colors that work well together, but are not too matchy, color palettes are a good place to start. These are from Design Seeds... So once you have decided on your color scheme, it's time to build your wardrobe...
Pick 3... pick three main colors then add in blacks, greys, browns, or whites. Not necessarily all of them together, just one or two that work with the 3 colors you chose. Layer and Accessorize... this adds dimension and texture to your look. Necklaces, headbands, scarfs, tights, hats, ties...are all accessories to add to your look. For boys, who often have less options, try a t-shirt under a polo or button down shirt. Once your have gathered everything, lay it out on the floor and step back and take a look. And my most important tip when it comes to clothing... How do you feel in what you are wearing? If you aren't comfortable in what you are wearing, it will show. Wear clothing that makes you feel confident and that which is true to who you are! I hope that helps!!!! Fall sessions are booking now! Contact me for availability.
